Swallow Barn
Swallow Barn has a glorious open-plan living/sitting area with comfy sofas and chairs and lots of exposed beams. There are extensive views across the gardens with bird feeders right outside. The kitchen is also found at this level and has a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a flat-screen TV, DVD, CD player, games and books. As this cottage is ‘upside-down’ the two bedrooms (a double and a triple) and bathroom are downstairs. The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower. There is direct access to the south-facing gardens with lots of garden furniture, a BBQ and the tennis court. In the front is a flower-filled courtyard and parking right outside. Over the road is our own mini nature reserve, 25 acres of meadow and 2 lakes, one for fishing. Bradworthy’s friendly pub, tea rooms and shops are ½ a mile away. Great holidays for families or couples who love the great outdoors!

Enjoy a glass of fizz in the peace and tranquility of our private lakes
We visited Lake Villa for the second year running and this time stayed in Swallow Barn - a delightful upside down property overlooking the garden. It's an idyllic part of the world: peaceful, calm and beautiful. No traffic on the road outside. Further afield there are magnificent places to explore and scenery to drool over.
The property is well appointed with a thoughtfully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, the usual appliances and lots of games, maps and walk suggestions. Use of the garden is an added bonus and our two dogs had a delightful time exploring.
What a lovely place. We arrived very late and was not sure about the directions. Simon was a star. He guided us and waited up to greet us. This was so nice. The place is lovely. Plenty of space and with an amazing back garden. Our dog had a ball. He had a companion in Scarlett. The surroundings are lovely and Simon and Sarah are always there to give tips on what to do and where to go. Must go place - is the Hidden Lakes. Perfect for a picnic and wild life watching.
Simon and Sarah were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay even lending a pair of wellies to my son when we had a rainy day. The barn has all you need and is very cosy and tastefully decked out, overlooking the beautiful gardens and tennis court. An unexpected surprise was the tranquility of their own lakes which guests can enjoy sole use of with accompanying summer house and cooking facilities - this granted us a lovely evening and meal out in nature on our last sunny evening. Deep in the Devonshire countryside Bradworthy is the nearest village with it's Bradworthy Inn and tearoom. You are also a short drive from the coast with Sandymouth and many other great beaches. Very good value and recommended.
